Kosher Organic Fair-trade Mishloach Manot

How on Earth are you going to find a Purim basket that is organic, fair-trade and kosher? Leave it the Jewish community in Berkeley, California to come up with just that.

I’m a mother of a five year old, and living in Berkeley, I’m surrounded by people who spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about what they put in their children’s bellies. So for Purim, it seemed like a no-brainer when the parents at our Jewish preschool decided to buck the trend, ditch the cheap candy, and put together a Purim basket that was both tasty and responsible.

That’s how we developed the Berkeley Mischloach Manot. While every dollar earned also goes to the school’s fund for financial aid, it also reflects the values of our community, and perhaps yours too.

We launched the new organic, fair-trade Purim baskets last year just within our own community. We heard last year from outside communities interested in the baskets, and so this year we are going a bit wider. We are shipping anywhere in the US, and we’re trying to get the word out. The basket includes chocolate, lollipops, dried fruit, EcoTeas, chips and an organic cloth tote bag. We also have organic, homemade hamentaschen made especially for the Berkeley Mischloach Manot.

We ship packages to anywhere in the country, and the tasty but responsible choices we’ve made for the basket’s content have made this a one-of-a-kind basket in the nation.
