Tree of Life Congregation Green Team

To promote taking care of God’s creation

We created and maintain a large rain garden on our property, which is also a National Wildlife Federation certified wildlife habitat. Our rain garden is open to the public and serves as an educational tool. We recycle 5 materials beyond those collected by our county and we compost yard waste. We avoid using disposables and materials not friendly to the environment. We are a member of the Midlands Green Congregations Initiative, the Richland County Partners for Healthy Watersheds, and the Gills Creek Watershed Association. Our rain garden has received an award from the Richland County Appearance Commission.  We were also named the 2014 Green Neighborhood /Community  by Keep the Midlands Beautiful.
