Congregation Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah – Kehillat Haganat Ha’Svivah (Green Committee)

Our mission is to inspire a Torah based approach to understand and act on the strong connection between Torah values and the environment in our ASKT community.

We have established an organic vegetable garden, planted by the children and maintained by families in the synagogue community. This past year we donated over 100 pounds of fresh food to local food pantries. Our Tu B’Shvat Seder this year was tied to a recycling effort focusing on reducing electronic waste. Our Bulbs and Batteries Campaign has collected fluorescent light bulbs and all kinds of batteries for recycling. And this was just in our first year of existence!
